Recognition is the easy part. Fit, conflicts and audience overlap are what decide whether the endorsement pays back.
We screen before we shortlist
Three things sink endorsement deals after the money is committed: the talent is already locked to a competitor, their contract expires inside your campaign window, or their audience is not the audience you sell to. All three are checkable in advance.
Rights are the real negotiation
Most first-time brands negotiate the fee and accept whatever usage terms come with it. That is backwards. Territory, media, duration and exclusivity determine what you actually bought, and each one is separately priced.
Regional often beats national
If you sell in Maharashtra, a Marathi film actor speaking Marathi will usually outperform a national Hindi name — on relevance, on cost, and on how believable the endorsement feels.
Questions
Before you enquire.
What drives the fee more than fame?
Usage rights, territory, exclusivity, deliverable count and shoot days. A three-month regional digital deal costs a fraction of the same shoot with two-year national rights across all media.
How do you check for conflicts?
Before shortlisting, we check our exclusivity register and confirm in writing with the talent representative that there is no active or pending contract in your category.
Can I afford a celebrity as an MSME?
Often yes. A digital-only endorsement from a regional star addressing your actual market usually outperforms a national name for a regional product, at roughly a tenth of the fee.
What happens when usage rights expire?
You must stop using the footage. We maintain a rights register with expiry alerts, because running an asset past its licence is a common and entirely avoidable legal exposure.
