Sanjay Suri

Film debut and rise to prominence ( 1999-2001) It was director Raj Kausal who spotted Suri in his modelling days and offered him his very first role in Bollywood with his directorial feature Pyaar Mein Kabhi Kabhi which had him along with Rinke Khanna and Dino Morea in the lead. The romantic comedy which told the story of group of students of a performing arts college who goes through varied emotional setbacks after the arrival of a girl had him playing a major supporting character. The movie although was a let-down at the time of release Suri got the due attention for his looks. He was then seen in Abhishek Bachchan’s romantic flick Tera Jadoo Chal Gayaa along with Kirti Reddy, Kalpana Lajmi’s Raveena Tandon starrer drama film Daman: A Victim of Martial Violence in 2001. Despite being low faring affairs these movies ensured a smooth take off for Suri’s career and saw him coming up with commendable performances. Suri was next called upon by Megna Gulzar for the critically acclaimed ensemble drama flick Filhaal alongside Sushmita Sen, Tabu and Palash Sen in the lead. The same year in 2002 he was cast opposite a huge star cast consisting of R Madhavan, Jimmy Sheirgill, Namrata Shirodkar and many more in Anant Mahdevan’s retor musical drama film Dil Vil Pyar Vyar and he paired with Sonali Kulkarni.
